A woman was hit by a car in the Waterside early this morning.

The PSNI are appealing to a woman who was hit by a car in Derry early this morning to contact them immediately.

The woman was struck by the vehicle on Duke street at around 4am, however according to a witness she got up and ran away.

A police spokesperson has said they want to make sure the woman is not seriously injured and have asked for her to contact them on 101.
